Keith Piwowarski provides system safety and security design guidance based on years of experience at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Akamai Technologies, and the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory.

While at MIT Lincoln Lab, Keith had the great fortune to meet and help Colonel Bill “Dollar” Young develop STPA-Sec. Since then he’s been putting the method to practice at every opportunity.

Other experience at MITLL includes developing the SUAS seed program that led to their ongoing Small UAS Initiative, and developing a multi-agency S&T proposal worth $35M. At Akamai he resolved the international-crisis-as-technial-incident spurred by the onset of the Russo-Ukraine War. At Draper, Keith provided STPA/STPA-Sec leadership on LE2 and a critical voice on a significant USAF new start effort.

Keith offers several STPA/STPA-Sec oriented services:

  • Design Consultation/Critique - for those with a system concept design looking for value-add analytic support

  • Design Development - for organizations willing to develop their product with STPA design feedback through potentially product delivery\fielding.

  • Team Recruiting and Growth Coaching - for organizations with a cadre of practitioners or looking to grow the same.

  • Open Consultation - for those in need of experienced help, but unsure that STPA fits the need.
